The Independent Practitioners

Each of the physicians brings a wealth of unique expertise and specialisation, honed through extensive studies, experience and research. Under the guidance of esteemed dermatologist Dr Adrian Lim, the team are well-versed in the most effective treatments to address concerns.

Dermatologist - Phelbologist
Dr Adrian Lim is a Fellow of both the Australian College of Dermatologists and the Australasian College of Phlebology. A respected leader in his field, he is a past President of the Australasian College of Phlebology and is the current President of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.

Dr Lim is an Honorary dermatologist at the Royal North Shore Hospital where he leads both the Burns Scar Laser Clinic and the Cutaneous Neurofibroma Laser Clinic. He is the former Director of Clinical Trials at Central Sydney Dermatology, Macquarie Street and has contributed to numerous research publications and scientific presentations, both nationally and internationally.

In addition, Dr Lim is the co-Editor-in-chief of Opinions and Progress in Cosmetic Dermatology, the official journal of the Australasian Society of Cosmetic Dermatologists.

Dermatologist
Dr Trish Lowe graduated in medicine with Honours from Sydney University in 1988 and spent her intern and residency years at Royal North Shore Hospital. A Masters of Medicine followed in 1994. She has been a dermatologist and Fellow of the Australasian College since 1998.

Private practice aside, Trish is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney Central Clinical School, a consultant dermatologist and senior staff specialist at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She has served as the Honorary Secretary of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and was  on the College Board of Directors. Trish has also served as the NSW Director of Training for dermatologists.

Trish is an avid reader and a regular yoga practitioner and enjoys gardening. She is patient focused and looks for the best clinical outcome for each of her patients.

Phelbologist
A distinguished phlebologist with extensive experience in treating venous conditions. Mark has a special interest in lymphoedemas and performing endo-venous laser and ambulatory phlebetomy.

Mark has been a practising Phlebologist in Coffs Harbour and Armidale since 1997 and has a special interest in Oedemas (Idiopathic, Lymphoedema and Lipoedema) as well as many years experience in performing Endo-Venous Laser and Ambulatory Phlebectomy.

Mark is married with three children. He divides his time between his vein practice in Coffs Harbour and uRepublic in Sydney.

Phlebologist
An accomplished and pioneering phlebologist with special interests for ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy and endovenous laser treatments.

Dr Simon Thibault completed his studies in Medicine at the University of Sydney in 1994 and worked in the fields of General Medicine, Oncology and Psychiatry before commencing training in Phlebology in 2002. He is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Phlebology (ACP), having completed the requirements to pass the Board´s Certification Exams in 2006.

He was the Chief Censor of the ACP from 2016-2019 and the Dean of the ACP in 2019-20, a role that involves overseeing the training program for all vein trainees in Australia. He is also involved in teaching the diagnosis and management of Venous diseases to trainees. In 2019, Simon was appointed as an Education Advisor to the International Union of Phlebology (UIP).

He is a past president of the ACP. He has been awarded a Certificate of Clinician Performed Ultrasound by the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) in 2022.

He has special interests in ultrasound–guided sclerotherapy and endovenous laser treatments including their use in major varicose veins and venous ulceration.

Simon divides his time between his vein practice in Newcastle and uRepublic.

Phelbologist
Dr Anita Patel graduated in medicine from Sydney University in 1989, gained a Masters of Medicine in 1994 and Fellowship of the Australasian College of Dermatology in 1998.

Anita’s experience in cosmetic dermatology dates back to the set-up of the Skin and Cancer Foundation cosmetic unit at Darlinghurst over a decade ago. She is a very experienced injector and has a particular interest in laser treatments, including resurfacing.

Anita continues to practise general dermatology at her Bondi Junction rooms, Complete Dermatology. Anita’s two children and family manage to occupy the rest of her busy schedule.

Dermatologist
Associate Professor Deshan Sebaratnam graduated medical school with Honours and completed his residency at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

As part of his dermatology training, he completed a year at St. John’s Institute for Dermatology in London.

Deshan is specialist at Liverpool Hospital and has established a paediatric laser service there. He has a strong interest in teaching and research. He has published over 100 medical research papers in and presented at conferences around the world.

He is Fellow of the Australian College of Dermatologists, International Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London).

Cosmetic Physician
Sonia has over 20 years of medical experience and is passionate about taking a holistic approach to skin, health and beauty. She aims to work in unison with her clients to leave them looking and feeling confident, refreshed and natural.
Vein specialist
Dermatologists
Dr Lachlan Byth completed specialist training in dermatology at tertiary hospitals across Sydney, including Prince of Wales Hospital and Royal North Shore Hospital, as well as a clinical fellowship in Oxford, UK. He was awarded the University Medal and the Dean’s Medallion after graduating from medical school, as well as the Australasian College of Dermatologists’ Travelling Fellowship for achieving the highest score in the national fellowship examinations. He is interested in all aspects of medical, procedural and cosmetic dermatology.
Dermatologist
Dr Gilberto Moreno is a qualified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgery specialist. He graduated from Rosario University in Colombia, and achieved recognition by The Australian Medical Council in 2006. Dr Moreno completed basic physicians training in 2011 through the St Vincent's Hospital Network in Sydney, NSW. He completed dermatology training in 2016 where he spent a year in the UK advancing his knowledge of connective tissue disorders and the multidisciplinary management of skin cancer. He continued his training and became an approved Mohs Specialist recognised by the Australasian College of Dermatologists in 2018. As well as his clinical work, Dr Moreno is involved with the education of junior doctors and dermatology trainees through the University of Sydney and The Australasian College of Dermatologists where he is a Senior Associate Lecturer and Director of Training respectively. In addition, his research has been presented at national and international conferences and scientific meetings, with multiple peer-reviewed publications demonstrating his ongoing involvement with education and research. Sonographer
Jo is a highly skilled sonographer specialising in vascular imaging with over a decade of experience in Phlebology. She is uniquely skilled in navigating veins during all ultrasound-guided procedures with the phlebologists.

Jo has a Bachelor of Science (Neur) from the University of Otago and a Graduate Diploma in Medical Sonography from the University of Sydney.

Jo is a vascular specialised sonographer with 10 years’ experience working in the field of Phlebology and is a member of the Australian Sonography Association and the Australian Sonography Association Registry.

Registered Cosmetic Nurse
Deanna is a Registered Nurse with over six years of experience in dermatology and cosmetic medicine. She takes a holistic approach to skin health — addressing concerns including acne, rosacea, pigmentation, and signs of ageing — and performs cosmetic injectables with a focus on natural, balanced results. Deanna is known for her warm, approachable manner and genuine commitment to ensuring patients feel informed and supported throughout their treatment journey.
Registered Cosmetic Nurse
Georgia is a Registered Nurse with over six years of clinical experience across cosmetic medicine and operating theaters. Beginning as a scrub/scout nurse, she built a strong foundation in procedural precision and patient safety before transitioning into cosmetic medicine in 2020. Since joining DVIA in 2024, Georgia has worked alongside experienced dermatologists delivering advanced laser and skin treatments and holds a Laser Safety Certificate. She believes the best outcomes combine tailored in-clinic treatments with an evidence-based home skincare regimen, and takes a thorough, education-focused approach that prioritises long-term skin health over quick fixes. Georgia is known for her warm nature and genuine commitment to ensuring every patient feels informed and supported.

Jordyn is a Registered Nurse with over 8 years of experience across critical care, cosmetic medicine, and laser dermatology. Trained in anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, skin boosters, and advanced laser therapies — including pigmentation, skin resurfacing, and collagen stimulation — she combines clinical precision with a genuine commitment to natural-looking results and patient care.
